Birth Control Patch
Information on the Birth controle patch
There are many options today for preventing pregnancy, and you have a lot to think about when it’s time to decide what you want to use. The pill has been around for a long time, but there are some people who simply cannot remember to take it each day. This can lead to irregular bleeding, and if you miss enough of them, you may end up pregnant when you don’t wish to be. There are a lot of products that offer the same protection, but promise to make it easier to protect yourself. One of these products is the birth control patch.
The birth control patch has been around for a year or so, but I’m sure it was being tested long before it was released for public use. The birth control patch has the same hormones as the pill, but the birth control patch is applied to the skin and only has to be replaced once a week.
This sounds good in theory, but there have been some problems. While I don’t know enough about it to comment, I do know there have been some who have had adverse reactions to the patch, and it may be more dangerous than once thought.
I have my own reservations about the birth control patch that really are more practical. These are things that I can’t get my mind around, so I haven’t even gotten to think about the dangers. My mother has recently gone through a period of very bad lower back pain. In an effort to control this pain, her doctor put her on pain patches. These patches needed to be reinforced with extra tape after the first twenty-four hours. I can’t imagine the birth control patch would work any better.
Another reservation I have is the amount of problems one might have with the patch in regards to the release of the medication in the birth control patch. If it is good for a week, how do you know the protection isn’t overwhelming on the first day, but then fades as the week goes on? How do I know this product will work well and keep me healthy at the same time? If you have an interest in using the birth control patch yourself, these are both questions you may want to talk to your doctor about, as well as the other health concerns that have been in the news recently. Remember that convenience should not take the place of safety, and that your health could be compromised if you don’t ask the right questions.
The birth control patch has hit the market with a bang. Women of different ages and who are in different stages in their lives can benefit from this convenient birth control method that requires little time or effort. It also has little demand on your memory, too.
When I was on the pill, I was in constant panic because I never could remember the simple task of taking the medication. You have to keep track every day and make sure that you take the pill at the same time in a 24 hour period. This may seem simple but if you are on a hectic schedule it can be very challenging. The birth control patch is applied once and then you forget it until it is time for a change.
This would have been great for me years ago. I worked shifts and sometimes I would be getting up when I normally would be going to bed. It was impossible for me to maintain a schedule with eating three meals a day. The idea of taking a pill at the same time each day was too much.
I also would have to take a step back and try to remember whether or not I took the pill that day or not. It may be hard to believe but there were days that I might have taken the birth control medication twice in one day. This does nothing for the pill’s effectiveness.
The birth control patch is ideal for anyone who has a hectic schedule and this includes new moms. Moms have little time to take care of themselves and remembering to shower every day can pose some challenges for new moms. Getting a birth control patch is a great way to protect yourself from conceiving too soon and you don’t have to keep track on a daily basis.
The great thing about this medication is that it works in the same way as the pill but without the daily hassle. You simply put the birth control patch on a discrete patch of skin. Many like to put it on our hip or shoulder blade. These can be seen so you really want to keep it out of sight.
You can shower and swim with the birth control patch and you can cover the relatively small medication strip up with little effort. It is important to keep in mind that it does work like the pill so smokers over 35 should avoid using this kind of product.
